A Governmental Conundrum It is with a in the interest of hope and change that I continue to read the news but alas, my hope has rapidly faded and the change I see is more like a repeat performance of a bad movie that has only gotten worse over time no matter how many efforts have been put forth to rewrite it, dress it up in a prettier package and make it look more appealing. Much the same as the mythical (?) holiday fruitcake that gets passed back and forth between family members as a multi-generational Christmas gift and tradition, this story has played itself out time and again throughout our short history as a nation and around the world and has never once produced a happy ending. |

Good Government Snooping Bad Problem Those that know me well may know that there are members in my direct family who were involved in certain jobs that required more than a small amount of discretion. For some of them, the biggest obstacle to overcome when applying for security clearance was me. It is not that I am some type of criminal, running or hiding from anyone or that I am any type of real security risk but as a perusal of this website will show, I am not by any means a fan of the government. That being said, how can anybody say that government snooping can ever be a good thing … especially someone like me? Well you see, while they are not directly involved any more, I did have direct family members working with the kind of stuff that you really do not want to just hand to people who are out to kill you. One of the very few powers that is actually granted to our government is to provide for the common defense of these Independent but United states of America. |

I am personally sick and tired of having my character and my intelligence questioned any time that I question the religion of Climate Change. Despite what many followers of this faith based system of beliefs may seem to think, a notion that the approach is wrong as opposed to the problem itself not being existent is a major portion of the problem. Very few people will make any claims that Climate Change in one form or another does not exist. In fact, a look at the world in which we live will quickly reveal that climate change has been going on for as long as we can look back through history. Cause and effect may be in question but the existence of an ever-changing climate has never been an issue in doubt to most reasonable people. We have recorded ice ages and heating trends well before the advent of the Industrial Revolution and the increased levels of pollutants being dumped into our environment. To deny something like this would be almost as foolish as attempting to fight it with nonsensical means that serve ends that are detrimental mostly to those who have made the most progress and are performing the most good. How? Take a look and see for yourself. I dare you to look at these facts and tell me with a straight face that this bill will solve anything! |

I have said it many times over and I will repeat it here. If we lived in a perfect world, a TRUE Socialist society would ultimately be the ideal solution. Unfortunately, we do not live in anything even remotely resembling a perfect world and thus, socialist ideas of utopia are not only flawed, but also fatal in nature. If the present trend continues, the United States of America will inevitably crash and become a mere footnote in history. The absolute greatest and most prosperous experiment in Government will have gone the way of Ancient Rome, Italy, Germany, Japan and even Russia and China. Those examples were not picked haphazardly but were all societies that were effectively destroyed from within by a blind or otherwise beguiled populace who believed in the ideal utopian society where everybody would be equal. The bottom line is that not all people are created equal. Let us address the issue of all people being equal. |

Rights and Responsibility; these are very unique concepts. Still, they are both interwoven into the very fabric of our society. A right is a basic right of each and every citizen, given to people without question and assumed to be true among all people equally. Owning private property is a right, being able to dress how we want, drive what we want and utilize that which is available to us in a manner that we deem to be the best for us as individuals are all rights that we enjoy for the most part. That is one of the key differences between our Constitutional Republic and a very poor form of government that is known as a democracy. It is also one of the reason I cringe in horror each time someone calls the USA a democracy. Our Founding Fathers warned us in no uncertain terms that to try and convert this Republic into a democracy would result in her death. As we were warned, it will be a very quick (in terms of historical passing of time) but agonizing and painful death for our nation. Sadly, that is seeming to come to pass. Still, that is not the point ... or at least not the entire point of this article. |
