Do You Diggit? If so, please share!
Read the article before you judge it please! I love America. I have always loved her and I always will. Still, I think that while to speak of her ultimate demise may be premature today, it is certainly not as premature as it may seem at first glance. Unfortunately, I believe the words of the poet so woefully foreseen in Federalist paper number two, are soon to be uttered and the great experiment of our Constitutional government will become scarcely more than a footnote in history. ``FAREWELL! A LONG FAREWELL TO ALL MY GREATNESS.'' Our attempts to turn our Constitutional Republic into a democracy have been all too effective and ultimately, the price will be the death of this once great and proud nation.
Perhaps even sadder still, is the incredible level of ignorance and apathy that has pervaded our nation and allowed our politicians and their political partying to bring their plans to fruition … So successful have been their efforts, that we the people now openly invite the government to take power that it has no constitutional authority to possess. If that were not enough, as we proceed down this path that leads to an increasingly steep and slippery slope, more and more of we the people actually beg the government to infringe on our personal rights and liberties. Some instances of that are covered in other articles in this section of my site and there are certainly no limited number of them to write about in new articles that will appear here from time to time. I will also use this article to introduce many other topics that are leading to the death of our once great and proud nation and many examples of blatantly unconstitutional and sometimes openly illegal actions by our federal government. Mind you, all of these subjects will be laid out more fully in other articles but they bear mentioning if we are to avoid the inevitable but again, I am sadly afraid that the death of America as we know it … or at least as we imagine we know it … is already decided. My personal beliefs are that the Constitution was written exactly as it was for a specific purpose and it is not a “living and breathing” document that is subject to or open for cussing and discussing. Unfortunately, there could have been little insight to foresee the apathy of Americans today in regards to our federal system. Our system of checks and balances only works when it is tempered by the presence of we the people. However, much more than just our presence is required if we are going to prevent the over use and abuse of powers. As we the people become more and more complacent, the federal system grew and expanded far outside of the parameters defined for it by our Constitution. People openly cry to the feds today to solve their personal problems or settle perceived offenses. If your faith is so sadly lacking that you are offended or frightened by the mere appearance of a star, cross or a crescent, than you need to re-examine your personal faith and your personal system of beliefs. When the government is able to come into homes and regulate how high you turn up your heat, when you can build a fire or anything else … well we have allowed them to take far too much power already. If you do not think such is the case, than you are either blinded by your complacency or really do believe that the federal government will willingly rescind power that it already has. There is no indication that our government will ever willfully back down, down-size or reverse any of the illegal programs that it has instituted. As long as people perceive that their own little corner of the world is safe, we tend to become complacent and do not look at what is going on around us. This may seem like an attack on the democrats here, but remember that I observe both “parties” with equal disgust and disdain. The government's encroachment on our rights is an incremental and progressive movement. I would caution you to heed the words of Cardinal Berdinand in Germany as Hitler made his rise to power. I will paraphrase here since I do not have internet connections while I am writing this: When they came for the Jews, I did not say anything because I was not Jewish. When they came for the homosexuals, I did not say anything because I was not a homosexual. When they came for the blacks, I did not say anything because I was not black. When they came for me, there was nobody left to say anything to! The entire power of the federal government is legally and constitutionally limited. If you do not believe it, let's take a look here at the very Constitution that our politicians have sworn to uphold and defend … against all enemies, foreign and domestic … (Yeah right, like that will ever happen) The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Other areas expand this to say that the powers of the federal government are few and well-defined. Time and again we have been warned by our founding fathers and in the important documentation of our nation that centralizing all federal power into a central and unified federal system of government would be the death toll for this nation but that is exactly where we are at. May God have mercy on any man who has ever had to suffer the bonds of slavery. Literally hundreds of thousands of people died in this once great and proud nation … and while slavery was certainly an issue, it was not the root cause or actual purpose for the American civil war. I am personally very happy that Abe Lincoln did not continue with his activist activities of the 1850's when he actively opposed the abolitionists. No man is happier than I am that we now live in a nation where slavery is not allowed. Yet here sit We the People, while we become slaves to a far harsher master than even many of those in the old south. All of this is in no small part, due to the very efforts of the man who so many people consider a hero for ending slavery. A close examination of Lincoln's voting record and activities will clearly show that he was not opposed to slavery. Hate me if you want but check the facts before you hate me for the actions of someone who died well over one hundred years ago … he was NOT opposed to slavery no matter what anybody may say, think or believe. His sole concern was the “preservation” of the Union even if it meant violating the very Constitution what he was sworn to defend. With the help of a complacent and willing congress, he succeeded in “preserving” the Union but in a highly altered state and far away from anything that our forefathers had wanted and in to something exactly like what they feared the most. It is sad and more than a bit disgusting that the Southerners did want to preserve slavery. Okay, it is actually very sick and disgusting but again, it was not the main point of their fight or their ultimate goal in having a war. This is a topic that will cover many different articles, but a bit of a limited and factual background information has to be included here given the limits of our federal indoctrinational institutions that we call our public schools. The south legally and lawfully seceded from the Union. The Union troops remaining in Fort Sumter were now illegally and unlawfully occupying territory and were asked, warned and otherwise persuaded to leave time and again. Their refusal to do so was seen as an invasion of the new Confederate States of America. If we were smart now, we would protect our borders just as fiercely, but again, that is a topic for many other articles and not for here. These invading troops, after being asked and warned, remained on Southern soil and were subsequently attacked and driven back above the Mason Dixon line. Therefore, the common misconception that the South started the war is arguable at best and doubtful either way. While they may have fired the first shots, they were also the ones whose territory was being occupied by invading forces. Another fact that needs to be pointed out is that Lincoln was attempting to make unheard of usurpations of power from the states and centralize it into an illegal (according to the Constitution) federalized form of government. Ending slavery was certainly a benefit but personally, I have no doubts that it would have inevitably come to an end anyway. What we got as a result of our civil war was a centralized federal form of government with all of the power in one location. When that was combined with the apathy of the American people, it quickly grew and expanded into what we have today. Okay, I can hear the hate because of those comments but again, regardless of thoughts, opinions or what you may think, those topics will be covered in-depth here and you can look up the facts and check them for yourself if you are not too apathetic. If you are one of the apathetic crowd, sit back and tell me how wrong I am and go about your life while your rights are eroded and you end up a slave to an oppressive and unforgiving government master or just pretend that everything is okay until it really is too late … if it is not already. Anyhow, apart from all of that, Abe Lincoln managed a move that would have made all of the wrong people very proud even if he was not able to see it. We now have a federal government that has power over the states and regularly holds them hostage with illegally gotten “federal monies” that is actually nothing more than an illegal redistribution of the funds of we the people. The federal government is now the largest employer in these United States of America and who do you think is paying for those thirty thousand dollar toilet seats and forty thousand dollar hammers? Okay, those figures may be a little exaggerated but nonetheless, we the people are footing the bill for a system that is blatantly illegal according to our Constitution and vehemently opposed by our founding fathers and something that they warned us about allowing to happen in so many ways that it is difficult for me to fathom how anyone with even a modicum of knowledge, education and common sense could not see plainly. If you can stomach the truth in this article, please come back often as you will get much more of it here. If you hate what I say, than show me where I am wrong that I may correct any errors. Eventually, I will have a major collection of documents here in addition to my conclusions, you should not even have to leave the site to figure it all out. The only question now is where do we go from here? Do we work together as Americans to rebuild what was once the greatest nation this world has ever seen or do we toll the bell for her and bid her a final farewell? ``FAREWELL! A LONG FAREWELL TO ALL MY GREATNESS.'' What did our Founding Fathers say about “Democracy”? Democracy... while it lasts is more bloody than either aristocracy or monarchy. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide. – John Adams - Ward Tipton
