With Barack Hussein Obama it is a Matter of Respect

I read an interesting article the other day about all the bowing and supposed arse-kissing by Obama regarding foreign world leaders and I would like to add this as my personal observation regarding the matter. It seems that the common themes of these articles that this is simply a matter of respect regarding foreign dignitaries and heads of state. This may be true. We did after all, see the “proverbial” American “Cowboy” personified (Though having been an actual working cowboy, I thoroughly and personally resent this comparison and successfully argue in defense of the real cowboys I have known any time this argument comes up) holding hands and kissing members of the House of Saud. So could it really be something so simple and innocuous as a show of respect by Barack Hussein Obama in deference to his “peers” and fellow world leaders? The answer may surprise you.

There is little doubt in the mind of anyone that Barack Hussein Obama bowed to the King of Saud. Anyone who has seen the video would not contest this from any point of view that was objective in nature. But then again, George W. held the hand and kissed a male member of same royal family. Still, there remain subtle differences that, in the world of diplomacy, come to mean many great things. In fact, one of the primary reasons I never attempted to get into public politics in any serious fashion was because of my decided lack of diplomacy and the subsequent difficulties that do arise when you fail to be less than fully diplomatic with both foreigners and thin-skinned pseudo-citizens who are so easily offended.

Personally, I could care less if someone is offended by the truth and have always based my opinions and thoughts on nothing more than the truth. If the truth interferes or conflicts with your set of beliefs and supposed values (based on moral relevance as opposed to actual standards of right and wrong) then maybe it is your sense of values that needs further and closer examination and not the facts. So is the simple truth that Barack Hussein Obama was doing nothing more than showing respect? Certainly the vast majority of the articles I have read indicate that this is indeed the case. If it is, what is the big deal?

Well again, we are talking about politics and diplomacy here and nothing so simple or absolute as the rules of the game we live and die by in the real world. For example, if you or I were caught with 90k of marked FBI bribe money in our freezers, we would not have to worry about whether or not our offices would be searched or even about having to show up at work the next day … much less the prospect of whether or not our contracts would be renewed. Yet in government and in the world of politics and diplomacy, these actions are taking place whether the same rules apply to us or not. If it was an average citizen doing this, one could perhaps say that it was nothing more than an act of respect. But what does it mean when anybody literally bows down to someone else.

To bow down before someone slightly is to show respect. Anyone who has ever studied martial arts knows this. To bow down deeply shows a great deal of respect as well as subservience to or a more submissive existence when compared to the person who is being bowed to. In both cases, Barack Hussein Obama did bow not slightly, but deeply to these people. But here is the first problem with that. The same people that are saying this are, for the most part, also claiming that Barack Hussein Obama is a stark-raving narcissist who is madly in love with himself … so how is it that this incredibly vain person is so “humble” at the same time.

The fact remains whether people like it or not that this man is the leader of the largest nation in the free world and what is still, seemingly at least (and perhaps temporarily at this stage of the game?) the most powerful nation in the world. When Barack Hussein Obama bows down before these people, he is not bowing down as any sign of personal respect but out of humility and shame (as evidenced by “his” writing in the past … read his books and then talk to me okay) at being an American and being representative of the nation that he (as can be seen in “his” writing) so loathes and feels is truly the blame for so many evils in the world today. The truth is that it has nothing to do with respect for world leaders whether they are our allies or enemies.

How dare I presume to know his thoughts?

I presume only to possess reading comprehension skills. When “his own” words proclaim that he is personally shamed of his white ancestry and the white blood that courses through his veins, I take it to mean that he is shamed by the white side. If it is not about race with him, why must he be ashamed of “half” of what he is while elevating the other “half” in a preference based solely on his perceptions of the differences based on nothing more than the genetic race involved? When “his words” proclaim that America is evil, I presume only to believe that he means that America is evil. Who am I to judge him? The fact is that we are not judging him but accepting what he believes by accepting what he says.

Where is there any “evil”, “judgment” or “misunderstanding” there? It is not the beliefs of those on the right that convict Barack Hussein Obama of having any ulterior motives but his own set of beliefs and his very own actions that betray his true colors.

If it were only a matter of respect

One Philippine commenter who was defending his bowing actions mentioned that it is very common for people in the Philippines to “bless” the elder or their superiors. Generally this is only done within the family but it has been known to be carried out by members other than those within the immediate family. If Obama was only making a display of respect, why is it that he did not “Bless” Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (The President of the Philippines) when he met her there. Why did he not address her with the use of the term “Po” meaning an elder or even simply someone deserving of respect? He did not do this simply because it was not about respect.

Had he been better educated in Indonesia, perhaps he would be familiar with the massacre of the indigenous people here by American forces that actively opened up the door for the Indonesian Muslims to come in to the Southern regions of the Philippines and gain such a following as they have. Perhaps if he knew of such a great tragedy foisted onto yet another population by “those evil Americans” he would have been more respectful to the Philippine president.

If it was a matter of respect, how did it come to NOT bowing to the Queen of England and especially allowing Michelle Obama to walk up to her and pat her on the shoulder. Such an action in England is akin to treating the Queen scarcely better than a common household pet. In fact, I daresay the only time it would be appropriate for ANYONE to touch the Queen in such a manner would be if she were somehow falling and they were the one closest and best able to prevent the fall. Such “common” and familiar physical contact with the Queen puts her in the rather awkward and exceedingly un-diplomatic position of being treated as nothing more than a commoner among her own people.

Poland was yet another demonstration of Barack Hussein Obama’s “respect” for our allies. What if your home was broken into, your daughters and sons were raped and murdered and I announced on the anniversary of that tragedy, from the house of the person who committed such a heinous crime against you, that you would not only get no additional protection, despite your pleas, you would be left fully responsible for providing for your own defense while the person who committed that crime would get special treatment. Is that how you would want me to show you “respect”? Yet here comes our fearless leader, brazenly announcing from the former head of the Soviet Union, on the 70th anniversary of their invasion of Poland that Poland would not only not get the missile defense shield they asked us for but would receive very little aid at all while we worked to “unite ourselves” with Russia.

Such actions speak with contempt, not respect!

I ask you, is that how he shows “respect” to world leaders? If it is, than where did these other actions come from? Why is one world leader more worthy of respect than another? Is there any reason to show a submissive side to our enemies while being blatantly disrespectful of and two our allies? There is only one reason I can think of and to be quite honest, it sounds so conspiratorial and whacky that I hesitate to even mention it. Still, actions speak louder than words do and with Barack Hussein Obama, those actions have not been sounded out diplomatically or with anything remotely resembling a modicum of respect for anybody other than our enemies.
