With Barack Hussein Obama it is a Matter of Respect

I read an interesting article the other day about all the bowing and supposed arse-kissing by Obama regarding foreign world leaders and I would like to add this as my personal observation regarding the matter. It seems that the common themes of these articles that this is simply a matter of respect regarding foreign dignitaries and heads of state. This may be true. We did after all, see the “proverbial” American “Cowboy” personified (Though having been an actual working cowboy, I thoroughly and personally resent this comparison and successfully argue in defense of the real cowboys I have known any time this argument comes up) holding hands and kissing members of the House of Saud. So could it really be something so simple and innocuous as a show of respect by Barack Hussein Obama in deference to his “peers” and fellow world leaders? The answer may surprise you.

On the National Level, the Senate was actually put in place in order to protect the people and the states from encroachments and usurpation of power by the federal legislative branch. This certainly does not seem to be the case today and in fact, so much partisan bickering, lobbying and other (legally) questionable activities are going on that it seems almost as if most of our problems actually stem from the senate rather than from the house.

In fact, one of the early stipulations was that members of our elected branches should be required from time to time to live among their constituents and thus, to have a better grasp of the needs, wants and feelings of the people that they (are supposed to) serve. Now granted, this may be difficult in a society as large as ours but it is certainly not impossible.

Still, when my elected “representative” government officials were not in Washington DC and I needed assistance in a very important matter, I was not even allowed to see the person who “represented” me on such a personal level and only after many phone calls and visits was I even allowed to write out my case and present it to their secretary for review to see if it was worthy of their attention.

It used to be that Truth, Justice and the American way was more than just a cool motto for Superman and was actually viewed to mean something in real life as well. Anymore, I am not so certain that this remains the case. In fact, like so many things, I have been saying this was a thing of the past since I was a young teenager.

It used to be that courts revolved around truth and justice but anymore, conviction rates seem to be the “in-thing” that judges and lawyers seem to concern themselves with. Ask any honest attorney or judge and I doubt that this will be openly contested to any great degree … other than as much as may be necessary in order for them to “save face” and prevent having any shame in the truth.

I remember in the mid nineteen eighties in Orlando, Florida, Sheriff Lawson Lamar was running for re-election and all of his campaign posters proudly proclaimed that crime was down thirty three percent. If ever there has been a case for truth in advertising, to me at least, in my personal experience, that would be the proverbial cause for truth in advertising laws.

Some people questioned what I meant when I said that the police have a responsibility to protect the law and not the people. The facts are that we used to have peace officers whose job was to serve and protect the peace. Now we have law enforcement agents whose job it is to defend the law.

A great many people live under the misguided impression that they will be believed innocent until such a time as they are proven guilty. This is an error in judgment that could be very costly and actually force citizens to unknowingly and unwittingly relinquish even more of their rapidly diminishing rights.

The presumption of innocence is now a thing of the past.

Read the article before you judge it please!

I love America. I have always loved her and I always will. Still, I think that while to speak of her ultimate demise may be premature today, it is certainly not as premature as it may seem at first glance.  Unfortunately, I believe the words of the poet so woefully foreseen in Federalist paper number two, are soon to be uttered and the great experiment of our Constitutional government will become scarcely more than a footnote in history.

``FAREWELL! A LONG FAREWELL TO ALL MY GREATNESS.''

Our attempts to turn our Constitutional Republic into a democracy have been all too effective and ultimately, the price will be the death of this once great and proud nation.
